Charlie Ward
Born and raised on the family farm in Earls Barton (where our studio is located today), Charlie developed a keen interest in photography in his late teens. At that time, he was working in the shoe industry at Barker Shoes (started by his great grandfather) and used photography to record new shoe designs in Italy. Having mastered his craft, he went professional back in 1985 and hasn’t looked back since. Ask him what he loves photographing best and he will probably tell you aerial views from a helicopter, cars and food - quite an eclectic mix. Interests: Ted the Beddy Whippet, Running, Goodwood Revival, Rolling Stones, The Salties & Pip Ahoy!

Grace Crawford
Grace Crawford has been my assistant for a number of years and every day she is always keen to learn and develop her skills with the aim to become a commercial photographer in the future. Working with Grace is always great fun and my customers love chatting to her during photoshoots and hearing about her learning progress. These days, Grace is also developing her modelling skills and this can be very useful to me in the studio when I ask Grace to model some clothing, or use her hands during a food shoot. In summary, Grace is a young and up and coming photographer, who is also proving to be one of my best photographic assistants.

JAMES WARD
James Ward
James is Charlie's eldest son and has now formed his own company specialising in motion film work. James is making quite a name for himself, both here in the UK and around the world, filming a variety of subjects from supercars and sports to promotional films for blue chip companies. EMMA KAYE
Emma Kaye
Emma Kaye is a fully qualified Home Economist and food stylist working throughout the UK. She has been working with Charlie for a number of years and they have now teamed up to offer a number of food styling and photography courses, starting later this year. Emma has over twenty five years experience and works with a number of well known blue chip companies, such as Innocent, Morrisons, Waitrose, The Co-Op, Asda, M&S, to name just a few.

Tom Cockerill
Tom Cockerill
Tom’s work has always involved food so the progression towards being a food creative involved in Film, TV and Photography seemed a natural progression for him after a career of nearly 20 years working in world class multi-Michelin star kitchens across the world and two award winning restaurants of my own in the UK.
His creative work is extremely varied working for many different clients in various medias. Each job brings its own individual creative needs as well as drawing from his extensive background food knowledge. A typical week might involve a shoot creating a new character from ‘fake’ ice cream for a packaging shot and another working behind the scenes on a TV drama creating the food used in a dining scene, He loves his job!

Katie Ward
Charlie’s wife of 38 years and Mother to Freddie and James (Ted walker too) When Katie is not helping Charlie at the studio in Earls Barton, you will find her at home in Devon, running her Airbnb business in 2021. Katie is a trained NNEB, having worked as a nanny in America in the early 80’s and latterly as a classroom assistant at Wellingborough School (2000 - 2020). Ted
Ted
Ted can often be found in the kitchen at CWP (searching for scraps) and is a Bedlington Whippet - a rather adorable mixture and very friendly. Hopefully, you will meet Ted when you next visit us. Ted often features on the In Salcombe Instagram and Facebook pages as ‘Ted’s Walks’ and is proving to be quite a social media star in his own right!
